Colerain Township oil spill shows that even in Cincinnati pipelines have significant risks

On this past Monday, The Colerain Fire Department dispatched crews to an area in the Oak Glen Nature Preserve Park. The crews were sent to the Blue Rock Road area after getting reports of an oil smell. After all, that smell is not one you usually associate with a nature preserve. Park rangers said that residents started noticing a unusual odor several days ago. One must wonder how many days this leak has been active, and if far more has spilled than officials have let on. Upon arrival at the scene, fire crews said they found “petroleum product”, a polite way of saying “We have a oil spill on our hands”
