New Collective Punishment Laws “Parental Responsibility Ordinance”

Do parents in North College Hill accept a new “Parental Responsibility Ordnance?”

North College Hill a suburb of Cincinnati has is own police and mayor and is the community where Pat Mahaney was savaged in a brutal felonious assault by six teens in August of 2012.

“I find this whole thing appalling and despicable,” North College Hill Police Chief Gary Foust told the Daily News at the time.

Now the Chief and Mayor have a new scheme to collectively punish the parents and families of delinquent youth.

This comes as no surprise when small cash strapped cities look for new ways to generate new revenue streams due to falling home ownership.

This nightmare ordinance will cost parents of delinquent youth fines of up to $750 dollars for repeat violations and even jail sentences for the actions of an uncontrollable teen.

“That includes:

Keeping illegal drugs out of their home
Keep firearms out of the possession of the child. Excuses for hunting or legal activities are exceptions to this rule
To exercise and have in place “reasonable controls” to prevent the child from vandalizing or destroying property of a person
To prevent such child from committing theft of property
To prevent in “violent assaultive behavior”” –

Due to the unconstitutional nature of the ordinance expect to see the courts overturn this on the violation of civil rights issues this will generate. Meanwhile, the lives of innocent families and children will be destroyed and permanently wrecked.

North College Hill parents live under the new “Parental Responsibility Ordnance” that is a de-facto slap in the face and runs counter to the United States Constitution.

Congratulations North College Hill Mayor Amy Bancroft, you’ve just given many lawyers a revenue stream for years to come after they file civil rights lawsuits against the city and Hamilton County and waste Cincinnati-an and Hamilton County criminal resources and tax dollars.

Under Title 18 Section 242: Deprivation of Rights Under the Color of Law states “Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.”
