Tropical Mosquito Virus Spread To Kentucky

Chikungunya (chik-en-gun-ye) virus, or CHIKV, discovered in man from Anderson County who had traveled abroad.

Six others were also treated for the virus. The virus can be spread by the bites of the ades ageypti mosquito that are more common and aggressive than most mosquitoes.

Symptoms include: high fever, chills, vomiting, joint pain and an itchy rash.
