A class action lawsuit was filed June 12, 2014 by lawyer Laura Landenwich of Louisville on behalf of Tabitha Gentry, 32, after a video of her abuse by jailers surfaced.
Since the discovery of the video, three more inmates have joined in a class action lawsuit based on the mistreatment of the Floyd County Jail Sheriff Darrell Mills and officers.
Gentry, arrested in a domestic disturbance on four misdemeanor charges believes the violations to her civil rights were outrageous.
The three men who also accuse jail officers of abuse and mistreatment are Vincent Minton, 23, Michael Herron, 36, and Adam Walker, 31.
The first video showed how officers paraded Tabitha Gentry around naked the jail in front of the opposite sex and in full view of other inmates for five hours.
The other men claim similar accounts of abuse between five and seven hours or more.
Gentry described how she was touched in all sort of offensive manner by the male and female deputies at the jail.
Officers also used a tazer in some kind of sick game for refusing to answer questions, as soon Minton was stripped naked, he was shot in the buttocks, tortured and electrocuted.
Gentry after being ignored for going to the restroom was forced to urinate into a drain in the middle of the cell floor like a dog.
Walker also who was electrocuted, choked out and revived said he witnessed officers violently knock an inmate to the concrete floor which knocked out his teeth and laugh as the man lie bleeding on the floor.
In the lawsuit as plaintiffs are: Mills, unnamed corrections employees, Sgt. Ryan Rainey, Tiffany Frans, Atherton, and other Jane/John Doe officers.
Gentry was accused of: public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.
