Crime: Conspiring to send juveniles to for-profit detention centers

BILL DEWEESE
Position: Former House speaker
Party/home county: D-Greene
Crime: Theft, conspiracy and conflict of interest for Bonusgate
Penalty: 2½ to 5 years in prison, fined $25,000; $117,000 restitution
Status: Released in March after serving 22½ months, he is seeking a new trial and is on parole into 2017

BRETT FEESE
Position: Former House leader and chief counsel
Party/home county: R-Lycoming
Crime: Theft, obstruction and conspiracy in Bonusgate
Penalty: 4 to 12 years in state prison; fined $25,000; $1
million restitution
Status: State prisoner

VINCE FUMO
Position: Former state senator, Appropriations Committee leader
Party/home county: D-Philadelphia
Crime: Defrauding the state Senate and two charities, attempted cover-up
Penalty: 55 months in state prison; $1.29 million restitution
Status: On probation until 2017

BOB MELLOW
Position: Former state Senate leader
Party/home county: D-Lackawanna
Crime: Conspired to have members of his staff do campaign work; filed a false tax return that cut his tax bill by about $16,000
Penalty: 16 months in federal prison; three years supervised release; $40,000 fine; $100,000 restitution
Status: On supervised release and is seeking reinstatement of his $138,958 annual state pension

JOAN ORIE MELVIN
Position: Former state Supreme Court justice
Party/home county: R-Allegheny
Crime: Used her sister’s state Senate office and her own Superior Court staff in her two Supreme Court campaigns
Penalty: 3 years’ house arrest; 2 years’ probation; work at a soup kitchen three days a week; write letters of apology to every jurist in the state on a photograph of herself in handcuffs
Status: Is free while she appeals

JANE ORIE
Position: Former state representative
Party/home county: R-Allegheny
Crime: Theft, ethics violations, conspiracy, forgery and tampering with evidence for using her legislative staff to perform campaign work for her sister’s bid for the state Supreme Court; submitting doctored documents to the court to support her defense at trial
Penalty: 2½ to 10 years in state prison; $180,000 restitution; also disbarred by the disciplinary board of the state Supreme Court
Status: Released in February after serving minimum

JOHN PERZEL
Position: Former state House speaker
Party/home county: R-Philadelphia
Crime: Using taxpayer funds to build a campaign database
Penalty: 2½ to 5 years in state prison; fined $30,000; $1 million restitution
Status: On parole through April 2017

STEVE STETLER
Position: Former state representative; former state revenue secretary 2008-09
Party/home county: D-York
Crime: Misusing state-paid staff to work on House campaigns
Penalty: 14 months to 48 months in state prison; fined $35,000; more than $460,000 restitution
Status: On parole until October 2016; is seeking re-argument of his appeal before Superior Court

MIKE VEON

Crime: Approving Bonusgate bonuses
Penalty: 6 to 14 years in prison; fined $37,000; $100,000 restitution
Status: State prisoner

LEANNA WASHINGTON
Position: Former state senator
Party/home county: D-Philadelphia
Crime: Conflict of interest, for using Senate staff to organize campaign fundraisers
Penalty: 3 months home confinement; 57 months probation; $200,000 restitution
Status: Charged in March, she lost her May primary and avoided losing her pension by pleading guilty

VANESSA BROWN
Position: State representative
Party/home county: D-Philadelphia
Charge: Accepting $4,000 in cash bribes
Status: Remains a member of the House

JOSE “J.P.” MIRANDA
Position: Former state representative
Party/home county: D-Philadelphia
Charge: Criminal conspiracy, perjury and conflict of interest for allegedly hiring a “ghost employee” to funnel money to his sister
Status: Awaits trial

RONALD WATERS
Position: State representative
Party/home county: D-Philadelphia
Charge: Accepting $8,750 in cash bribes
Status: Remains a member of the House
